The 2026 TSRA Bullseye Championship matches were exciting and featured shooters from all over the United States! In addition to all our Texas shooters, we had competitors from Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, and Oklahoma. The competition was held between May 1-3, 2026, at the Northwest Texas Field and Stream Association's Don VanMeter Memorial Range which is located at 4472 Old Friberg Rd. Wichita Falls, Texas 76305.

Travis Jorgenson (who traveled all the way from Dent, Minnesota) won the 2026 TSRA Outdoor Precision Pistol Championship, scoring 2638-123x! Jonathan Shue (from Liberty, NC) took second in the 2700 with an aggregate score of 2631-118x. SFC Greg Markowski, USAMU (Fortson, Georgia) took third with an aggregate of 2616-124x, improving on his score from last year by thirty-five points and 27x’s! John Zurek (Alpine, Arizona) was First High Master with a 2614-109x. SFC Ryan Adams, USAMU (Ft. Benning, Georgia) was First Master with a 2600-96x. Garth Weber (from Valley City, North Dakota) was First Expert with a 2492-65x. Steven Kellner (Sachse, Texas) was First Sharpshooter scoring a 2526-67x! Steven will not be a Sharpshooter for long! K.G. Warner (Granbury, Texas) was first Sharpshooter with a 2298-26x and Charlie Norwood “The Hammer” (from Wichita Falls, Texas) was High Junior with a 2291-23x. 

CMP Excellence-In-Competition (EIC) Matches are competitions where civilian and military competitors can earn credit points that count towards the awarding of Distinguished Pistol Shot, Distinguished .22 Rimfire Pistol, and Distinguished Service Revolver badges.

For the .22EIC match, there were nineteen total and sixteen non-Distinguished competitors. SFC Greg Markowski USAMU won the match with a 292-17x, followed by SFC Ryan Adams, USAMU and Jared Sonti (Kempner, Texas), who put up scores of 290-10x and 288-9x, respectively. Steven Kellner (Sachse, Texas) led the non-Distinguished group with a 270-2x possibly giving him an 8pt leg, and his first EIC points! TSgt. Eric Hart, USAF (McLoud, Oklahoma) followed him with a 260-2x, possibly picking up a 6pt. leg (currently he has 20 pts). 

For the Service Revolver EIC match, we had seventeen in total and thirteen non-Distinguished competitors. Jared Sonti won the match with 382-10x, followed by SFC Greg Markowski, USAMU and Travis Jorgenson who put up scores of 373-11x and 368-6x, respectively. Terrence Sears led the non-Distinguished group with a 365-5x, possibly picking up points to add to the sixteen he already has earned. 

For the Service Pistol EIC, we had seventeen total and nine non-Distinguished shooters. SFC Ryan Adams, USAMU won the match with a 293-9x, followed by SFC Greg Markowski, USAMU and Jared Sonti (Kempner, Texas), who put up scores of 292-13x and 286-10x, respectively.

TSgt. Eric Hart, USAF again led the non-Distinguished group with a 267-3x, possibly giving him an additional six points to the six he has already earned.   

For 2026, the CMP added a .22 Rimfire Championship Match, which is a P100 style 40-shot non-EIC event. We had seventeen competitors on the firing line for this, and Travis Jorgenson won with 393-15x, followed closely by John Zurek with 392-20x and third place going to Jared Sonti, who posted a 385-16x. 

It was wonderful to take part in the fellowship with everyone as well as witness the professionalism, sportsmanship, and dedication to our sport on display during the match. Huge congratulations to Travis, Jon, Class winners, EIC Match winners and all the competitors! 

We hope to see everyone back next year at same location, April 30-May 2, 2027.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Excellence-In-Competiton (EIC) matches are competitons where civilian and military competitors can earn EIC points that count towards the awarding of Distinguished Badges through Distinguished Badge Programs administered by the CMP. EIC matches for Service Pistol, .22 Rimfire and Revolver are held during the annual State Match as well as during the Regional Match.
